After the trailer was shown to the crowd, popular actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt took to the stage to announce that his production studio, HitRecord, it teaming up with Beyond Good And Evil 2 developer Ubisoft Montpellier to bring original content, like artwork and music, to the long-awaited sequel. The best part of all of this, HitRecord won’t be making this content, it will all be contributions from fans. Below you can see a statement regarding the project released by Ubisoft after the announcement:
The ability for creative Beyond Good And Evil fans to contribute music, art, video footage, even written work to the game’s development is undeniably cool and exciting. Its hard to imagine how it would feel to fly through Beyond Good And Evil 2’s vast open universe and see your artwork on the side of a building or hear your music on a radio but it could only serve to improve your experience and provide variety to said universe for other players.
Beyond Good And Evil 2 is shaping up to be a quite the release for Ubisoft. Ignoring that fans have been waiting for this game since the originals release back in in 2003 on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube, the game looks nothing short of amazing and with the reveal of original protagonist Jade in the prequels E3 2018 trailer will only fuel fan hype.
For more information on the program, or to sign up and start contributing content, head on over to the HitRecord website. It has been running a little slow since the announcement so have patience.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 is currently in development and does not have a release date.
